Abstract: An historical abstract of the problems and issues faced by the in-pool fuel storage technology enroute to its present state of well developed maturity and high reliability is provided in this paper. Many errors of omission and commission in the wet storage industry in the past stand as nuggets of wisdom for the emerging dry storage options, from which the latter may learn to avert costly repetition of errors. The solid technical underpinnings of the wet storage technology merits its consideration as a viable MRS option, which, as discussed in this paper, have been curiously overlooked.
